Especially its medicinal properties is of high value for the people. The plant can cure several different diseases, the part of the plant and its preparation depends on which disease you want to get rid of.

If you suffer from high blood pressure, you can benefit from the Kontoutprey by eating its fruits. Also, if you have stomach – and bowelache you can use the fruit to make a mixture with rice wine and drink it. This is supposed to have a soothing effect on the digestive system.

Another great property of the Kontoutprey plant is, that it can cure a fever. Cut the wood, chop it to pieces and boil it into a tea. The tea will lower the fever after you drink it.

But it is not only the fruit and the wood of the plant that have medicinal purposes. The bark as well has great beneficial effects. If you have burned skin you can grind the bark from Kontoutprey on the affected area. This will have a healing effect on the skin.
