At 10am on September 5, in a meeting organized by EHE and PLCN, 83 community members from seven villages in Dang Kambet, Sandan and Meanrith communes were discussing their strategies and initiatives for protecting Prey Lang when they were interrupted by seven police officers who had been directed to check on the meeting by the Sandan District Governor and Meanrith Commune Chief. Apparently 2 plainclothes police, having joined the meeting from the beginning, provided the government with a list of all participants, copies of agendas and hand-outs, and the names of PLCN representatives and leaders involved in facilitation. EHE was told that the meeting could continue provided that all discussion of Prey Lang and related advocacy cease. EHE continued the meeting with discussions on agriculture and good hygiene, actively monitored by authorities
