August 30, 2013 | Posted in: News

On August 23, 14 PLCN (4 women) members met with the USAID mission director, along with democracy and governance offices and the natural resources officer. This marks the first time that a USAID contingent has met with PLCN members as a group. The meeting provided PLCN members with an opportunity to introduce themselves, explain their history, who they are, and what they are trying to achieve. They also described successes, challenges and concerns. PLCN members explained that they had become a network in order to save Prey Lang and protect biodiversity as well as protecting their own way of life. They asked USAID to continue to support them and to make sure that their funding goes to organizations that share PLCN’s goals and can appropriately support them.
