Logs seized in Stung Treng

The recently created nationwide anti-logging commission seized 300 logs of illegal timber at a sawmill near a Vietnamese graveyard in Stung Treng province on Friday.
A member of the PLCN – Chea Sokhoeun – told that some of the wood came from districts lying within the Prey Lang forest area.
In Kampong Thom’s Prasat Balang district 16 logs of one rosewood tree, worth more than $ 10.000, was confiscated by the military police, while the 6 loggers managed to escape.
